AAUW Fallbrook hosted the SunUpper event at the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, July 11. President Karen Langer Baker, along with husband Larry and several AAUW members greeted guests with a beautiful charcuterie board created by Karen’s daughter. It was great to spread the word about what AAUW Fallbrook does in our community.

Our June General Meeting was action-packed. We gave thanks to the 23–24 executive board and welcomed the 2024–25 board members.

The stars of the meeting were the high school graduates who are recipients of the well-earned scholarships from AAUW Fallbrook and our generous donors.

In addition, we got the first look at our Tech Trek students who will attend this year’s summer STEM camp. They are a most impressive group. Great work, Sharon Robinson and the Tech Trek committee! We look forward to hearing about their experience at the September 14 general meeting.

But wait, there was more…Joy Frew and Ann McCarthy of our Public Policy Committee gave us the opportunity for a brief introduction to incumbent candidates for local school board positions. These non-partisan positions are important in aligning with AAUW California’s Public Policy Priorities.

As always, thank you to Maria Viernes and her Hospitality team and volunteers for their efficient set-up and delicious snacks.
