Movie Review Group, Carole Hodges, Chair
Movie Review meets the third Friday of the month at 6:00 pm at a member’s home. Movie Review meets eight times a year, September through May, except December. All members plus a guest are welcome to join Movie Review Group. Singles and Couples are welcomed.
Movies are selected at the previous months’ meeting and members watch the movie on their own prior to the event. If you miss seeing the movie beforehand you are still welcome to attend.
We ask members to volunteer to host the group in their home or co-host or to lead a Movie Review. The Review Leader may choose the format for discussion.
Members bring a hearty appetizer, salad or dessert to share and your beverage of choice. The host provides coffee and soft drinks or water. Social hour enjoying food and drink is from 6:30 to 7:30 ish. The review is usually one hour. For more information, please contact Carole Hodges at Carole@CaroleHodges.com.

The Bibliobabes, as we affectionately call the members of our Fallbrook AAUW book club, continue to meet monthly. In the queue for discussion in the coming months are “French Braid” by Ann Tyler and “Klara and the Sun” by Kazue Ishiguro. DEI Group
The DIVERITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION or DEI subgroup of the Fallbrook AAUW started in 2020 as a pilot upon the request of our national leadership in Washington DC. After one year of meeting once a month, the plan was to do five things:
1. Have each member share their heritage in detail.
2. Study the seven social “isms” based on the Anti-Bias teaching curriculum.
3. Visit various places in our local community that showcase diversity.
4. Invite guests from various ethnic and social backgrounds to our meetings.
5. Do Action Projects to promote diversity to our membership and community.
Now in 2024, we have twelve active members, have gone on numerous field trips, as a team we gave a presentation at one of our general meetings, and promoted a diverse influence in our total membership. This group is determined to uphold the values of our founding Suffragettes to not only promote equal rights for women but equal rights for everyone. There is more work to do!

Ukulele Group
UKALADIES
Margot Dokken, Patty Carlson, and Chris Assad met at Grace VanderWerf’s home
to practice and play ukuleles just for fun. They will meet again Dec. 22nd at Patty’s
house from 2 to 4. And again Jan. 26th at Grace’s. All are welcome to join in. Any
