AAUW Fallbrook College Scholarships are awarded yearly to female seniors enrolled in the Advancement Via Individual Determination Program (AVID) through Fallbrook or Bonsall High Schools, who intend to pursue a full-time course of study at an accredited U.S. institution.  Criteria for selection includes; scholastic excellence, financial need, extra-curricular and community activities.

The purpose of this scholarship is to fund expenses directly tied to enrollment at an accredited educational institution for the purpose of earning a college degree.

We are focusing on girls who are in the AVID Program as they have already been selected by their teachers as students with a high potential for success in college and who are also likely in need of financial assistance in order to meet this goal.

2022 Scholarship Awards, Fallbrook High Graduates

Award ceremony for our college and Tech Trek Scholarship recipients

We awarded $19,000 in college scholarships and $6300 in Tech Trek scholarships. Not bad for our small organization!

Viviana Miramontes, left, was the recipient of the award in memory of Beverly Sinclair Thordarson. Beverly’s husband, Sten, participated in the ceremony by sharing memories of her and the impact she had on those around her. The award given in memory of Dr. Dorothy Leader was presented to Paula Serrano Tovar, above left. In the picture at the right are four of the recipients of scholarships from the Scudder Family Foundation in the name of Mark Scudder:

Continuing Educational College Scholarships

(UNDER CONSIDERATION)

Continuing Educational College Scholarships support female students who are in their junior or senior year of college or former students who are returning to college and are in need of additional financial assistance to fund the completion of their degree from an accredited U.S. institution.

The purpose of this scholarship is to fund expenses directly tied to enrollment at an accredited educational institution for the purpose of completing a college degree.

Candidates must be former Fallbrook or Bonsall High School students or current Fallbrook/Bonsall residents.

Candidates for both scholarship types will be selected by the AAUW Fallbrook Scholarship Selection Committee based on their scholastic excellence, financial need, community activities and work experience.
